Hair is the part everybody looks at. The scalp is the part that decides how it grows. Dryness, oil, flaking, buildup, and shedding all start down there, and they usually show up in the hair long before anyone thinks to look at the skin underneath.
A scalp evaluation is a close, unhurried look at what is actually going on. Your stylist parts through the hair section by section and reads the scalp itself. Then you get a straight answer about what they see and a plan that fits your life, not a shelf of products you will never use.
Sometimes the answer is that you are washing too often, or not often enough. Sometimes it is product buildup that a clarifying wash will sort out. Sometimes it is dryness that needs a treatment. And sometimes what we see is something a doctor should look at, in which case we will say so plainly and send you on.
We will always tell you what we see, even when it is not something we can sell you.

A section by section scalp and hair check, a clear read on what is happening, and a care plan.
If the evaluation points to it, your stylist can book a scalp balancing or hair regrowth treatment as the next step.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
We will always try to fit in a walk-in, and sometimes we can. Booking ahead is safer, because it holds your stylist and the right amount of time. Book online or call 718-204-2096.
What is parking like?
Street parking is usually available on Ditmars and the side streets around us. If you are taking the train, we are a short walk from the Ditmars Blvd stop on the N and W.
Do you work with curly and textured hair?
Yes, every day. Come in with your hair worn the way you normally wear it so we can see your real curl pattern before we cut.
How much is a haircut?
It depends on your hair and the service. Starting prices are on the pricing page, and your stylist confirms the exact figure at your consultation before any work begins.
