Come cut With Us

You have done the work

You have the skill, you have built your clientele, and you have proved you can do this. What you want now is a room that respects both.

Maybe you are renting a booth and you are tired of being your own accountant, receptionist, and stock room. Maybe you are in a salon where the culture wore thin. Either way, you should not have to choose between earning properly and getting better at your craft.

Chris assisted for years before he had his own chair. He knows exactly what it feels like to be good at this and still feel taken for granted. Crush Studio was built by someone who remembers that.

What We offer

Money that grows as you do

Tiered commission that scales up as your revenue does, so your percentage rises with your book rather than staying flat while you get busier. Retail commission on every product line item you sell, backed by product your clients already want.

Payouts are clear and predictable. No supply deductions, no backbar fees appearing out of nowhere. What you earn is what you take home, and you can see how it was calculated.

Education, funded

Hands-on masterclasses, certifications, and specialist workshops, paid for. Trending color work, custom hair systems, advanced scalp care, restorative treatments.

You also get an annual education stipend to spend on what you choose. Major industry conventions, off-site workshops, a master series you have had your eye on. Your call, not ours.

A room set up so you can work

Trained assistants handle shampooing, prep, and resetting your station. Front desk concierge and automated booking handle scheduling, reminders, and payment. Premium backbar, good lighting, and ergonomic stations, because this job is hard on a body over 20 years.

Somewhere to go from here

Step into leadership. Mentor emerging talent. Build a specialty service menu with the salon’s marketing behind it. Chris wants people to build something here, not just rent time.

What we handle, what you focus on

We take the back of house. Taxes, inventory, utilities, maintenance, and the front desk. We run targeted local marketing that sends new clients directly to your chair.

You take the technical work and the client relationships. You maximise your billable hours without working a 60 hour physical week to do it.

Who we are looking for

  • Two or more years of active floor experience, with a solid foundation in color theory and cutting precision.
  • An established client base looking for a better room to sit in.
  • A collaborative mindset. You lift the culture rather than just occupying a station.
  • Genuine interest in keeping up with modern technique.
  • A New York State license.

Let us talk, and keep it quiet

Moving salons is a serious decision and you probably do not want it discussed before you are ready. Every conversation stays confidential, full stop.

Come in for a coffee. Meet the team, look at the room, talk about what you want from the next few years. Zero pressure and no follow up if it is not for you.

If it is a fit, we will build a transition plan around your existing clientele so you move across without losing a beat.

    Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked in the chair every week, answered straight. If yours is not here, call the studio and ask us.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

We will always try to fit in a walk-in, and sometimes we can. Booking ahead is safer, because it holds your stylist and the right amount of time. Book online or call 718-204-2096.

Street parking is usually available on Ditmars and the side streets around us. If you are taking the train, we are a short walk from the Ditmars Blvd stop on the N and W.

Yes, every day. Come in with your hair worn the way you normally wear it so we can see your real curl pattern before we cut.

It depends on your hair and the service. Starting prices are on the pricing page, and your stylist confirms the exact figure at your consultation before any work begins.
